Your Career
As a Principal Technical Marketing Engineer on the CDSS (Cloud-Delivered Security Services) team, you will be the technical authority and strategic lead for the Advanced WildFire charter. You will serve as a key driver for our Precision AI-powered malware prevention solutions, championing cutting-edge advancements in sandboxing and machine learning-driven threat prevention.
In this high-impact TME role, you will redefine the future of malware analysis by bridging the gap between deep engineering innovation and global market adoption. You will not only execute technical marketing plans but also contribute to shaping the long-term technical strategy for the WildFire ecosystem, ensuring our AI-driven cybersecurity offerings remain the industry’s gold standard.
You will play a pivotal role in partnering with Senior Leadership, Product Management, and Engineering to architect the technical go-to-market and enablement strategy. This includes overseeing the creation of industry-leading best practices, solution architectures, and large-scale demo environments. As a strategic leader, you will influence product direction by identifying critical technology gaps to drive next-generation innovation across the entire Palo Alto Networks platform.
Your Impact
Strategic Leadership: Develop and own the global technical marketing strategy for Advanced WildFire, aligning product capabilities with evolving market needs and complex customer environments.
Market Intelligence:Translate competitive telemetry and "in-the-wild" threat data into actionable product requirements that preemptively close technology gaps.
Technical Evangelism: Serve as a premier industry thought leader, evangelizing WildFire’s Precision AI and malware prevention strategies through presentations, executive briefings, and representation in major industry conferences.
High-Impact Content: Oversee the creation of high-quality, architect-level collateral, including comprehensive slide ware, solution guides and white papers on evasive malware techniques, and technical publications that define best practices.
Roadmap Influence:Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineering leaders to provide deep-dive technical feedback, helping define PRDs and influence the roadmap for malware analysis features.
Advanced Lab Architecture: Lead the design and management of global lab environments and sophisticated demo systems that demonstrate complex, real-world multi-stage attack simulations.
Beta & Early Access Leadership: Drive the success of strategic customer trials and product betas, ensuring feedback incorporation into the final product.
Technical Upskilling:Scale the organization’s technical depth by mentoring TME, Field and Product teams on the nuances of modern exploit techniques and AI-driven defense.
Qualifications
Your Experience
12+ years of professional experience in the network security industry in a technical, customer-facing capacity (e.g., Technical Marketing, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Product Management).
5+ years of experience in a principal or lead technical role specifically within the malware analysis or threat intelligence domain.
AI-Driven Automation & Tooling: Hands-on, proven experience building AI-assisted demos and custom tooling, with a deep knowledge of agentic frameworks to take TME automation, solution validation, and technical enablement to the next level.
Malware Expertise: Deep technical mastery of malware prevention technologies, including sandboxing, static/dynamic analysis, and the application of Machine Learning (ML) for inline threat prevention.
Threat Landscape: Comprehensive knowledge of modern cyber threat vectors, including zero-day vulnerabilities, polymorphic malware, and sophisticated evasion tactics.
Architectural Depth: Proven expertise in network and web security (TCP/IP, TLS/SSL, HTTP/HTTPS) and how these integrate with cloud-delivered security architectures (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
Strategic Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into strategic narratives for both C-suite executives and deep-technical practitioners.
Ecosystem Knowledge: Solid understanding of the competitive landscape for sandboxing and threat intelligence solutions.
Technical Tools: Proficiency with scripting (Python) for automation and experience with production-grade lab environments and network test equipment (e.g., Ixia, BreakingPoint).
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
