Our dynamic Legal team has an impact on all go-to-market aspects of the business.. The team is immersed in developing our next-generation licensing agreements, buying programs, and channel-partner programs to scale across Palo Alto Networks’ entire technology portfolio. You will work closely with Sales Operations, Revenue and Finance, Channel Operations, and Global Customer Service teams, knowing the ins and outs of our business to support it from a legal perspective. Our Legal team is an essential resource on a global basis, affecting and driving our products and services. You’re passionate about legalities in a way that leads to solutions. Job Summary
Palo Alto Networks is looking for a highly skilled and experienced VP, Security and Resilience to join our dynamic corporate Legal and Policy team. You will play a key role assisting on our company’s corporate governance and securities law matters. You will work closely with your primary stakeholders, including Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Investor Relations, External Reporting, and the People teams, while being an important resource for your colleagues on a global basis. This position will be located in Santa Clara, CA, and report to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
Key Responsibilities
Global Strategy & Leadership: Develop, deploy, and lead a unified global Security & Resilience strategy, managing high-performing teams across AMER, EMEA, and JAPAC to ensure a consistent security posture worldwide.
Executive Partnership: Engage in daily collaboration with the CEO and top executive leadership, serving as a trusted advisor on executive protection, residential security, and global travel safety.
Advanced Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain trust-based relationships across business units, technology, and cybersecurity teams to align resilience efforts with overarching business objectives.
Crisis Command: Serve as the strategic command-and-control leader for all major security and operational incidents (CrisisTriage), ensuring organizational readiness through rigorous testing.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate complex physical, operational, and third-party risks to critical business functions and personnel.
Operational Resilience: Drive the company’s resilience strategy, encompassing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Global Strategic Expertise: Proven ability to build and execute a cohesive security strategy within a complex, multinational organizational structure.
Extensive experience collaborating directly with C-suite executives and board members on high-stakes security and legal matters.
Exceptional ability to influence and align diverse internal stakeholders, from Finance and Legal to Engineering and People.
8+ years of experience managing and developing high-performing, global teams.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Strategic Advisory: Experience serving as a strategic, trusted advisor to C-suite Executives and Board members on high-consequence security risks.
Advanced Risk Frameworks: Mastery of risk analysis and control frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
Emerging Tech Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in AI Governance, including the oversight of AI-integrated security tools and the mitigation of AI-related operational risks.
Cyber-Physical Convergence: Strong understanding of how digital vulnerabilities impact physical safety and corporate resilience in a cloud-native environment.
Certifications: Relevant professional certifications such as C|CISO, CPP, CBCP, or specialized training in AI Risk Management.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
