Your Impact

  • Become an expert in your area at all levels in the customer hierarchy from technician to manager
  • Lead conversations about industry trends and emerging changes to the security landscape that customers need to be aware of
  • Discuss, with credibility, competitive solutions in the marketplace and position ours as the best on technical capabilities and  business outcomes 
  • Lead and support customer demonstrations that showcase our unique value
  • Work with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and R&D to create requirements and product features for our large customers 
  • Provide consultation and best practice guidance for rollout, implementation, and policy conversion during the 'pre-sales process for strategic opportunities
  • Take ownership of advanced proof of concept testing in strategic accounts either at the customer site, Palo Alto Networks lab facilities, or remote 
  • Provide demos for strategic prospects and current accounts in all facets of Palo Alto Networks Cortex platform solutions 
  • Provide territory coverage within the region when additional resources are required
  • Provide advanced 'Partner SE' training for updates in the Palo Alto Networks product suite
  • Prepare and give technical presentations to customers on how Cortex products and services work
  • Work with customers, engineers, and product managers to ensure the technology is able to meet customer requirements
  • Build relationships with customers as their trusted advisor 
  • Help customers solve problems  with the best technologies by Palo Alto Networks 

Your Experience

  • Strong technical hands-on experience with application security/endpoint security as a customer-facing pre-sales engineer for the Cortex Southwest district
  • Working knowledge of endpoint prevention, SIEM, vulnerability management tools, SOC, firewalls, and other security technologies both from a technology and a business perspective
  • Solid grasp of web applications, web protocols, security, and Internet environments
  • Advanced knowledge of cyber threats is desirable
  • Experience with common enterprise desktop software deployment methodologies
  • Experience installing, configuring, and integrating a complex Security environment
  • Experience and understanding of malware, exploits, operating system structure, and behavior
  • Good understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems and scripting
  • Demonstrable experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of routers/switches, UNIX/Linux, and Windows-based systems (prior Active Directory/LDAP experience desirable)
  • Experience with Incident Response; both IR tools and IR workflow process is desirable
  • Experience selling, demonstrating, and installing security products is desirable
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written
  • Strong problem finding and solving skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution
  • Familiar working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel-centric go to market approach
  • Experience installing and configuring a virtual environment
  • Ability to set up your own lab for continuous product knowledge and testing
  • Scripting experience with a focus on Python and PowerShell is a plus
  • Travel of 40%-60% within the designated region
  • Strong initiative for being  proactive and responsive with customers and team members
  • Ability to be creative and think outside the box to accomplish desired outcomes and goals
