Job Summary

Join the Revenue Accounting team at Palo Alto Networks as a highly motivated Senior Revenue Analyst in a high-growth environment. You will leverage your strong critical thinking and communication skills to perform revenue close accounting activities and collaborate with key stakeholders. This role is perfect for a hands-on, solutions-oriented individual who thrives on developing new processes and improving the month-end close. Make your mark by working effectively under pressure to drive financial accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own monthly revenue close procedures, including preparing revenue and deferred revenue journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Perform revenue and deferred revenue analytics to provide visibility into trends and drive revenue optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with cross-functional business partners to implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements.
  • Support revenue-related system implementations and perform user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Manage projects, create procedural documentation, and develop training materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 404 key controls.
  • Assist with external audit requests, special projects, and other ad hoc tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years of progressive, relevant experience, including knowledge of ASC 606.
  • Familiarity with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Critical thinker with a risk-based approach and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CA/CPA certification.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Experience with financial systems such as SAP (ERP ECC & RAR), Blackline, Tableau, and SFDC.
  • Experience in the high-tech industry, particularly with hardware, software, or SaaS business models.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across multiple functions and implement new processes.
