Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Graduate to join our team as an MDR Associate Trainee. In this entry-level role, you will be part of our 24/7 Managed Detection and Response operations, responsible to detect and respond to cyber incidents facing customers’ internal business under proper mentorship and training. This position is ideal for recent graduates with a passion for cybersecurity and a desire to build a career in threat detection and incident response. The candidate should be a creative thinker who takes pride in solving tough problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Join a new emerging team who is going to be part of Palo Alto’s Unit 42, Working closely with global customers providing the best security in the market.
- Upon completion of Structured onboarding and cybersecurity training, own an incident lifecycle from outbreak to full remediation.
- Provide critical feedback to the different product, research and engineering and threat hunting teams to help improve the products for the entire Palo Alto Networks’ customer base.
- This position requires flexibility to work primarily during morning and afternoon hours however, occasional night shifts may be required depending on business demands.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science with minimum CGPA 7.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, networking protocols(eg: DHCP/DNS), and common threat types(Eg: Phishing/Malware/Ransomware/AD based attacks).
- Familiarity with security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, Firewalls, Proxy).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internships, outstanding academic projects or certifications.
- CTF/Hackathon achievements/ Hands-on Tryhackme/Hackthebox.
- Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is an add-on.
- Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework or common attacker tactics and techniques and malware analysis.
