Become a member of the Revenue Accounting team at Palo Alto Networks! We are seeking a highly motivated Revenue Manager who is excited to join a high growth Company. The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical thinking and communication skills. The candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to provide solutions for issues identified. The successful candidate is a competent individual with integrity, accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and a team player. This person will directly report to the Senior Revenue Manager and closely work with other members of the Revenue team. The candidate will be responsible to perform revenue close accounting activities, lead transitions and projects, develop new processes and improve on the month-end close process. The position requires a hands-on person who is flexible, solutions-oriented and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Your Impact
Own the calculation and execution of revenue adjustments in partnership with Technical Revenue, ensuring complete and accurate impacts to the financials and key operational metrics including ARR and RPO.
Drive the systemization of manual revenue workflows to improve operational efficiency, ensuring consistent accounting methodologies across newly acquired business units.
Manage the RPO (remaining performance obligations) process including datamart validations, assessment of manual inputs and ongoing analysis.
Manage contra-revenue accounting and rebate program execution, to accurately assess, calculate, and record monthly accruals, while performing detailed analytics to monitor program performance.
Review and approve detailed analysis, journal entries, system transactions and account reconciliations
Assist FP&A with forecasting activities and provide relevant data on revenue, deferred revenue and other QTC metrics
Establish and maintain strong SOX controls
Lead external audits and special projects
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or equivalent experience strongly preferred or equivalent military experience required
7+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, revenue operations, or finance in Technology or SaaS industry, 3 years of Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
Excellent technical and operational knowledge of ASC 606
Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, ability to be agile, manage priorities, and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of accuracy
Comprehensive understanding of quote to cash process
Strong self-starter who operates proactively with a high attention to detail
Effective communicator with all levels of management within cross functional organizations
Experience with financial systems, SAP & RAR, BigQuery, Blackline, Tableau, and SFDC a plus
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
