Job Summary

We seek a Principal Software Engineer for the Cortex DevOps group at our India Development Center (IDC). This role is for a software craftsman passionate about building innovative tools and platforms to solve the challenges of R&D and DevOps teams. You will excel at creating high-quality, maintainable, and scalable software that enhances productivity, streamlines workflows, and supports a growing infrastructure. If you are a developer at heart with a passion for building impactful tools, this is the role for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement resilient infrastructure solutions with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and sound system design principles.
• Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code for complex product and infrastructure features.
• Lead the design and development of advanced features, proactively collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment and deliver scalable solutions.
• Initiate and drive technical design reviews, helping teams align on best practices and architectural patterns.
• Provide expert-level code reviews, delivering in-depth feedback on code style, accuracy, efficiency, testability, and overall quality.
• Spearhead the creation and enhancement of technical documentation, setting standards and promoting best practices across teams.
• Provide advanced operational support and lead incident resolution for tools and applications maintained by the Cortex DevOps Tooling team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, demonstrating deep technical expertise and a commitment to building highly reliable, scalable systems.
• Proficiency with software development in one or more programming languages, with a preference for Python.
• Experience in developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
• Proficiency with at least one major Cloud Provider (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience with developing, deploying, and/or maintaining micro-services architecture with Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving issues in code and system health, along with experience in software test engineering.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
