Job Summary
The T&E Manager will lead end-to-end Travel & Expense operations, ensuring global policy compliance, operational excellence, timely reimbursements, and a seamless employee experience. This role requires strong domain expertise in T&E processes, policy governance, audit/risk management, and technology platforms (e.g., Concur, Appzen, SAP, Workday). The manager will be responsible for driving continuous improvement, operational efficiencies, and automation opportunities while strengthening internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day Travel & Expense operations across regions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee expense reports and reimbursements.
- Manage global T&E workflows, service level agreements (SLAs), and operational dashboards to monitor performance and efficiency.
- Oversee audit activities, both pre- and post-payment, to ensure compliance with corporate policies, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Manage the Global Corporate Card Program, including applications, delinquency, terminations, relocations, and reconciliations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on T&E policies, expense reporting software, and reimbursement procedures.
- Own and update the global T&E policy in partnership with HR, Tax, Legal, and Finance, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements.
- Act as the system owner and subject matter expert for T&E platforms, partnering with IT to resolve issues, drive enhancements, and lead automation initiatives.
- Lead, coach, and develop the T&E team to build strong functional expertise and foster a culture of customer-centricity and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience or Master's degree with 8 years of experience or PhD with 5 years of experience in Travel & Expense, Accounts Payable, or Finance Shared Services.
- Minimum 3-5 years of direct people leadership experience.
- Strong working knowledge of T&E platforms such as Concur, Appzen, SAP, or Workday.
- Demonstrated experience in global or regional T&E policy design, audit, controls, and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to international tax regulations such as GST/VAT and corporate card programs.
- Proven experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) or automation initiatives.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing relationships with travel agencies, corporate credit card vendors, and system providers.
