Job Summary

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a Sr. Director of Revenue Operations to serve as a strategic architect for our financial integrity and global revenue lifecycle. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for the end-to-end optimization of our Quote-to-Cash (QTC) ecosystem and the governance of our revenue recognition standards. You are a technical powerhouse with a deep understanding of ASC 606 and a visionary mindset for system automation. You will serve as the functional owner of our revenue systems, a key driver of New Product Introduction (NPI) strategy, and a trusted advisor to executive leadership across Finance, IT, and Product organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect the QTC Ecosystem: Serve as the functional expert for end-to-end QTC process flows. Lead the design and implementation of system upgrades across SFDC CPQ, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP RAR, ensuring every phase—from requirements to deployment—is optimized for financial integrity.

  • Ensure Global Financial Integrity: Apply expert-level knowledge of ASC 606 principles to oversee SAP production. You will be the final line of defense for revenue data accuracy and the enforcement of robust financial controls.

  • Drive NPI Strategy: Act as the strategic owner for the Revenue Operations perspective on the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. Ensure every new offering—from SaaS to consumption-based models—is operational and compliant from Day 1.

  • Define Revenue Policy: Partner with Technical Accounting to proactively document and confirm revenue accounting policies for all new Go-to-Market (GTM) activities.

  • Champion Automation: Identify friction points and system defects, aggressively pushing for automation initiatives that reduce manual intervention and increase the team’s processing velocity.

  • Execute Cross-Functional Governance: Drive 'upstream accountability' by holding IT, Product Management, and Sales teams accountable for their impact on the revenue lifecycle.

  • Lead GRC & Compliance: Act as a primary stakeholder in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and SOX initiatives, ensuring strict enforcement of controls at every level of the organization.

  • Cultivate Global Talent: Mentor and develop a high-performance team across multiple locations and international Centers of Excellence, fostering an environment of continuous professional growth.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Revenue Operations or Technical Accounting within the technology sector; deep mastery of ASC 606 is required.

  • Extensive functional knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP RAR, and SFDC CPQ, with a proven track record of directing large-scale QTC system implementations.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the revenue implications of complex New Product Introductions, including subscription, hardware, and consumption-based business models.

  • Strong background in SOX compliance and GRC frameworks within a global enterprise environment.

  • A self-starter 'builder' mindset, comfortable navigating ambiguity with a passion for continuous process optimization.

  • Ability to translate complex technical accounting and system requirements into actionable strategic advice for C-suite stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
