Engineering - Our world-class Software Engineering team is responsible for building products and services that protect our customers from the world’s most significant cybersecurity threats. The team is passionate about building solutions that are performant, scalable, and elegant. Our engineers work on a wide range of projects, from developing new features for our next-generation firewalls to building cloud-based security services. We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building great products and who are excited to work on some of the most challenging problems in the industry.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Principal DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud-Delivered Security Services (CDSS) engineering team. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and services, which process trillions of events daily to deliver real-time protection to over 85,000 global enterprises. As a Principal SRE/DevOps Engineer, you will bridge the gap between software development and operations, applying engineering practices to solve operational challenges at a massive scale.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure infrastructure to support our global security services.
Spearhead the transition to autonomous operational processes by developing and implementing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices.
Define and govern SLIs/SLOs/SLAs to ensure rigorous service standards and lead the 'Error Budget' conversation to balance feature velocity with system stability.
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines that empower developers to ship code multiple times a day with high confidence and reliability.
Implement and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to improve system visibility and proactively reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR).
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through blameless postmortems and root cause analysis, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement preventative measures.
Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripting and configuration management tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual error.
Mentor junior and senior engineers, championing a high-performance DevOps culture and leading complex design reviews to empower others and ensure alignment.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
9+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering, with a Bachelor's degree.
Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration, internals, networking, and troubleshooting.
Expertise in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI) and its core services.
Proven experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm).
Demonstrable experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A proven ability to dissect and debug complex distributed systems handling high-volume, mission-critical transactions.
Experience with high-throughput environments and large-scale data processing systems.
Advanced knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, Load Balancing) and security best practices.
