Your Career
This role is a hybrid of an HR advisor and local business partner in Japan, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, and taking responsibility for providing employee benefits and creating a conducive work environment and supporting the achievement of the business objectives for the team Japan. The successful incumbent must provide support and guidance to the people operations team while balancing the needs of the business and employees in accordance with the company's values and ethics.
Your Impact
- Responsible for the implementation and deployment of both local and corporate HR policies
- Manage regulatory-mandated actions and lead campaigns and projects (e.g., diversity, hiring disability, work flexibility, etc.)
- Collaborate with the regional Employee Relations (ER) team to address employee performance issues and other concerns
- Support and coach managers in talent and performance management to ensure effective leadership
- As a recruitment interviewer, contribute to selecting high-quality candidates who embody the company's values - Specifically, assess candidates' potential and their impact on team dynamics, and provide actionable advice to the Hiring Manager
- Partner with the People Operations team to enhance the company’s HR systems, including HR transactions, reporting, and audits, in order to support business and employment decisions effectively
- Act as an advisor to the regional benefits team on local benefit programs, including regulatory requirements and company-sponsored insurances (medical, life, workers' compensation), allowance policies, and more
- Lead key HR and organizational projects that support the achievement of business objectives
- Drive the deployment of HR processes and tools, ensuring alignment with the company's values and philosophy, in accordance with corporate guidelines
Your Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience in Japan or Asia, preferably with multinational company (MNC)
- Must be fluent in Japanese (written and verbal)
- Must have excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Analytical & Problem solving skills
- High level of interpersonal skills and integrity
- Ability to manage time, stay focused, and prioritize tasks – incumbent must have excellent organizational skills
- Strong employee relation and communication skills
- Customer focused – committed to providing excellent HR service delivery to internal customers (employees and managers)
- Experience on labor management office inspection
