Your Career

This role will involve working in the Public and Social Infrastructure Sales Division, where you will act as a pre-sales engineer and account SE, understanding our wide range of product portfolios and combining them to propose optimal solutions to customers in charge of social infrastructure (enterprise companies such as electric power companies and waterworks).

Specifically, you will approach end users and provide sales support to related partners (as an SE, you will create a sales and support system to turn our products into services). In order to help end users understand our product portfolio and promote product sales, you will provide information and respond to inquiries from a technical perspective, such as product explanations, training, workshops, and demonstrations. You will also provide technical support and case support for products that have been turned into services. You will also collect information from other companies in the industry, understand the advantages of your own products, and make effective differentiation proposals to contribute to sales expansion.

Your Impact

Curiosity is core to the Solutions Consultant role, and you see complex problems as opportunities to learn and deliver innovative solutions! You define your impact by:

  • Meeting and exceeding sales quotas by building and implementing strategic, technical account plans that target cross-platform solutions
  • Your ability to position, demonstrate and create high level designs across the entire PANW portfolio based on customer business needs
  • Conducting discovery to understand and articulate the key technical, operational, and commercial imperatives of your prospects and customers
  • Working closely with Professional Services, Customer Success and Specialist teams to ensure overall customer implementation and adoption of solutions
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to influence through effective presentations and customer-specific demos, technical engagements, and workshops
  • Leading successful technical validation efforts based on best practices to ensure technical win in assigned opportunities
  • Orchestrating supporting resources (Specialists, Channel Resources, Customer Support) to ensure a one-team approach that demonstrates a cohesive strategy
  • Promoting end-to-end solutions that include PANW and/or partner professional services to ensure customers realize business value sooner
  • Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our leadership 
  • Continuously investing in yourself to develop technical and professional skills that drive your ever-increasing contributions to success of our customers while actively participating within the Solutions Consultant community and at industry events
  • (OT) - Identifying technical stakeholders and cultivating relationships with key personas to build and drive a security architecture transformation roadmap

Your Experience

[MUST]

  • Experience as a pre-sales SE is required. Experience in pre-sales proposal activities (customer analysis, problem raising, solution proposal)
  • Continue self-learning to maintain technical leadership in the technologies covered by the company's products (security, network, data center, SDN, public cloud, etc.)
  • Collect information on industry trends and competitors, understand the advantages of the company's products, etc., and make effective proposals
  • Japanese language ability (fluent or native level, Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1)
  • English language ability (reading and writing: business level)

[WANT]

  • Experience in selling network infrastructure/cloud security products, as well as demonstration, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Experience proposing networks and security for public clouds and containers
  • Experience proposing effective combinations of multiple products and solutions
  • Experience engaged in productization and service development

[Other]

  • Able to proactively self-learn and acquire skills in new products and technologies
  • Able to take ownership of problem solving and act
  • Able to collaborate and work in teams both within and outside the company

The Team

The Public and Social Infrastructure Sales Headquarters is responsible for central government ministries and agencies, local governments, universities/research institutes, hospitals, and social infrastructure companies throughout Japan. Our headquarters boasts an extremely high share of the public market, and it is possible to gain cutting-edge experience in the cybersecurity field of the public market, which is currently undergoing transformation, including the Digital Agency.

The average length of service of our sales employees is among the longest in the company, allowing them to continue to gain experience and build networks. Sales SEs work in one-on-one pairs, collaborating with internal and external partners to handle cases and develop markets. We have a system that allows each employee to freely choose where and when they work to suit their own situation, and we offer subsidies for materials needed for working from home, exercise, and other expenses needed to refresh yourself.
