Your Career:
We are looking for a curious, hands-on architect to lead our media strategy and execution across Japan. This is not a set and forget role. We need a Senior Strategist who views media as a laboratory—someone who is perpetually dissatisfied with the status quo and wants to build media plans that drive real growth. You will be the bridge between our global business objectives and the tactical execution required to capture the attention of complex Buying Groups in the Japan focus accounts.
Your Impact:
As a Senior Manager, you are the connective tissue between our global brand ambition and the local market reality. You don’t just oversee media; you architect the plans and orchestrate brand & demand. You will influence everything from the localized creative hook to the media mix, ensuring that every yen spent is an investment in moving a buying group closer to a decision.
What You’ll Do
Architect and Own Media PlansLead the charge on Japan-specific media plans across Audio, Video, CTV, Social, Intent platforms, and Content Syndication. You will aggressively test new channels while maintaining a mix of global standards (Meta, Google) and local essentials (Nikkei, ITmedia). You are responsible for the hands-on building, optimization, and reporting of these plans.
Buying Group Orchestration Move beyond the individual lead. You will design media strategies that identify and engage entire Buying Groups within target accounts. You’ll connect the dots between global intent signals and local behaviors to build a cohesive picture of account readiness.
Translate Media to Business Outcomes You must be able to connect media metrics to real-world business outcomes like Pipeline and Closed-Won. You will relentlessly interrogate data to ensure we are driving high-value business, not just high-volume traffic.
Strategic Influence & Stakeholder Management Partner with Japan Field Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to ensure media is aligned with localized product roadmaps. You provide a data-backed POV that shapes how we adapt global campaigns for the Japan market without losing core brand essence.
Content & Creative Catalyst Use Japan-specific media performance data to influence the creative lab. You’ll provide the why that helps Creative and Content teams build high-performing assets—bridging the gap between global look-and-feel and local engagement triggers.
Drive Automation & POV Propel the team toward a hands-off-the-wheel future where possible. While you use our global AdTech stack, you will identify local opportunities for automation and maintain a strong POV on which tools actually deliver in the Japan ecosystem.
Who You Are (The DNA)
Intellectually Restless You have an innate curiosity. You aren't satisfied with industry benchmarks—you want to know why Japan’s performance looks the way it does and how to break the ceiling.
Market Intricacy Expert You bring a refined eye for local media consumption habits, knowing exactly how to balance the high-trust requirements of traditional market trade media with the agility of global digital platforms.
The Cultural Storyteller You can dive deep into a DSP or an intent platform, but you can also walk into a room of Japan Sales leaders and explain the buyer journey in a way that gains instant buy-in.
Deep Local ContextYou possess a nuanced understanding of Japanese business etiquette and the consensus-building process, allowing you to tailor media strategies that respect local hierarchies while driving modern digital engagement.
Qualifications
Experience 10+ years in media strategy and planning, with a heavy lean into B2B SaaS or tech. You’ve successfully navigated long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying committees.
The Toolkit Mastery of the modern media stack—Google Marketing Platform, LinkedIn, and Intent platforms. Experience with Japanese trade media and direct sponsorships is essential.
Language Business-level English for global collaboration and native-level Japanese for local execution.
Business Acumen You understand the P&L. You can speak the language of Sales and Product as fluently as you speak the language of media metrics.

We’re trailblazers that dream big, take risks, and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.
