Your Career 

Palo Alto Networks SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Sr.Principal SQA engineer with experience in validating core networking & security features in the SD-WAN team. You will be part of a world-class software engineering team that works on various ground-breaking technologies in the SD-WAN area. You will work with a multi- functional team of engineers solving interesting problems.

Your Impact

  • Devise methodologies and execute test plans that effectively test all aspects of the platform, from specific hardware/platform components to network layers L1-L7
  • Collaborate and communicate with Product Line Managers, Program Managers, Engineering, Operations, Support and other business units to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products
  • Influence the development of new products and testing methods by reviewing Product Requirement Documents, Functional Specification documents, and test plans with a discerning eye for technical accuracy and consistency from inception to final delivery
  • Work in a fast-paced, collaborative and challenging environment with a focus on driving best practices in the Platform Team as well as groups outside the organization
  • Automate test cases using Python to enhance the testing coverage, efficacy and efficiency of new platforms
  • Constantly striving to improve speed, efficiency and quality, you will set high standards for all products being developed now and in the future
  • Mentor and coach junior team members and drive best practices and knowledge across the various teams
  • Exemplify our culture of respect, integrity, diversity and collaboration within as well as outside the team

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, with a BS or MS degree
  • Expertise in testing of SD-WAN,Routers, Switches & Firewalls
  • Excellent knowledge of Platform Software and L2/L3 testing methodologies and processes
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux based operating systems and traffic generator tools like Spirent,Ixia, BreakingPoint,Tcpreplay, hping, iperf, etc.
  • Outstanding troubleshooting skills from understanding protocols, analyzing cli output, debugging logs, capturing packets, etc.
  • Proficiency with Python highly desired
  • Dependable self-starter who takes ownership
  • Computer/Network lab design and maintenance experience a plus
  • Expertise with standard TCP/IP protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP & IPSec VPNs
  • Expertise in testing of enterprise routing protocols such as BGP,OSPF & EIGRP etc.
  • Expertise in networking features like Multicast, IPv6, DNS, NAT & DHCP
  • Expertise with performance/scale characterization of a networking products
  • Excellent project leadership skills with a strong track record of successfully delivering on commitments
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, qemu/kvm, Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Be able to build and maintain complex networking testbeds
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills
