Our Mission

At Palo Alto Networks® everything starts and ends with our mission:

Being the cybersecurity partner of choice, protecting our digital way of life.
Our vision is a world where each day is safer and more secure than the one before. We are a company built on the foundation of challenging and disrupting the way things are done, and we’re looking for innovators who are as committed to shaping the future of cybersecurity as we are.

Who We Are

We believe collaboration thrives in person. That’s why most of our teams work from the office full time, with flexibility when it’s needed. This model supports real-time problem-solving, stronger relationships, and the kind of precision that drives great outcomes.

Your Career

As Director of Product Design, you will be the senior-most design leader in Bangalore, responsible for owning design leadership at the platform layer—where multiple products, workflows, and teams intersect, and where clarity of ownership and decision-making is critical to success. You will lead a large, globally integrated design organization and operate as a trusted partner to Product and Engineering leadership across regions.

This is not a feature-delivery role. It is a senior leadership position for someone who understands how systems evolve, how organizations align, and how design earns trust when the stakes are high.

Your Impact

Own Platform Direction

Define and evolve a clear UX strategy grounded in platform principles. Make informed tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scale, and translate long-term vision into near-term decisions teams can execute against. Ensure coherence across workflows and experiences that span the full customer lifecycle.

Lead a Global Design Organization

Serve as the senior design leader for our Bangalore-based organization, accountable for the health, performance, and evolution of a large design team. Recruit, mentor, and develop strong design leaders while building a culture of clarity, accountability, and executional excellence. Operate with autonomy, making decisions locally while maintaining tight alignment with global partners.

Foster High Accountability Without Fear

Create an environment of psychological safety and high standards. Deliver direct feedback with respect and clarity, avoiding fear-based or pressure-driven management. Build trust through consistency, judgment, and follow-through.

Operate as a True Cross-Functional Partner

Work closely with senior leaders in Product Management and Engineering, shaping strategy early and often. Build strong, trusted partnerships through presence, clarity, and follow-through—reducing friction rather than adding process.

Drive Outcomes, Not Activity

Define and track outcomes at platform scale, including adoption, time-to-value, workflow clarity, and the reduction of user and engineering friction. Hold teams accountable for progress and timelines, not just deliverables. Be willing to stop or redirect work that isn’t delivering meaningful impact.

Advance Discovery and Innovation

Set a high bar for discovery, ensuring teams are solving the right problems. Encourage thoughtful experimentation, stay attuned to shifts in the cybersecurity and AI landscape, and guide the organization toward smart, well-reasoned bets rather than safe defaults.

Represent Design with Executive Presence

Engage senior leadership with clear, well-reasoned points of view. Communicate complex interaction and systems concepts with confidence and clarity, connecting user needs, business goals, and technical realities.

In the first 12–18 months, success looks like a design organization operating with clarity and confidence: well-defined ownership, strong leaders running their domains, tighter alignment with Product and Engineering, and measurable improvements in platform coherence and customer experience.

Your Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in UX or Product Design, with work demonstrating strong systems thinking, craft, and effectiveness across complex, technical domains.

  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing senior design leaders in large or distributed organizations.

  • Demonstrated experience working on platforms, design systems, or multi-product ecosystems where coherence and reuse mattered.

  • Proven ability to ramp quickly into complex technical domains and build credibility through informed questions, sound judgment, and decision-making.

  • Fluency in modern discovery and delivery practices, paired with the judgment to adapt them to context.

  • Experience leading geographically distributed teams; comfort navigating cultural and operational complexity is essential.

The Team

Our design organization is responsible for shaping how customers experience one of the most complex security platforms in the industry. We work at the intersection of systems, workflows, and emerging technologies, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Research to turn complexity into clarity. We value leaders who bring curiosity, warmth, and momentum to their work—who raise the energy of the room while keeping teams grounded and focused.

Our Commitment

We’re problem solvers that take risks and challenge cybersecurity’s status quo. It’s simple: we can’t accomplish our mission without diverse teams innovating, together.

We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations for all qualified individuals with a disability. If you require assistance or accommodation due to a disability or special need, please contact us at  accommodations@paloaltonetworks.com.
