Your Career

We are currently seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Head of Global Transfer Pricing within Palo Alto Networks Tax team. In this pivotal position, you will play a critical role in building and designing the global transfer pricing team and priorities, lead of strategic transfer pricing projects, manage global transfer pricing compliance and reporting, drive transfer pricing automation, and provide invaluable support for our tax planning initiatives. The Head of Global Transfer Pricing will possess profound expertise in transfer pricing regulations and requirements, exhibit a thorough understanding of relevant tax laws, and offer guidance on tax legislation and economic developments on a global scale.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced leader in the field of transfer pricing known for their strategic expertise with proven experience of leading a transfer pricing group for a US multinational. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and creative thinker, with outstanding communication skills. Furthermore, they thrive in collaborative settings, working seamlessly with cross-functional teams. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a diverse group of talented and high-performing colleagues, all within a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position is based in Santa Clara, California. It reports to the Senior Director International Tax, Global Tax Planning and Tax, and will closely collaborate with the global tax team. This position leads a transfer pricing team both in Santa Clara and Bangalore India, so the candidate should have experience in team leadership.

The International Tax team at PANW is a close-knit and dynamic group dedicated to establishing robust tax processes, frameworks, and systems that will drive the business forward during the upcoming phase of rapid expansion. Our primary objectives include establishing appropriate transfer pricing policies and procedures, evaluating avenues to achieve certainty including APAs, etc., ensuring compliance across diverse geographical regions, meeting stringent reporting standards, and proactively preparing for audits to achieve our targeted tax objectives. Your Impact

The Head of Transfer Pricing is a crucial role in managing our company transfer pricing strategies to ensure compliance with tax regulations and optimize the company global tax position. Here are some key responsibilities for this role:

● Manage a team, manage priorities, oversee projects, and guide leadership on global developments to ensure timely deliverables and strategic alignment.

● Provide strategic leadership, including setting goals, managing resources, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

● Create, implement, and communicate transfer pricing policies and strategies that align with the companies business operations and tax optimization goals.

● Ensure the company complies with transfer pricing regulations in various jurisdictions where it operates. This includes preparing and filing transfer pricing documentation, country-by-country reporting, preparing for Pillar 2, and other compliance requirements.

● Identify and assess transfer pricing risks, manage transfer pricing audits, initiate and manage APAs, oversee responses on transfer pricing tax inquiries.

● Collaborate with the tax leadership and other cross-functional teams to design and implement restructure plannings that support the company&s overall business objectives.

● Explore opportunities for automation of transfer pricing processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

● Conduct benchmarking studies to compare the company&s inter company transactions with comparable transactions in the market to justify transfer pricing policies.

● Stay informed about changes in transfer pricing regulations and international tax laws, and adapt the company& strategies accordingly.

● Provide guidance and training to internal teams on transfer pricing matters to enhance awareness and compliance across the organization.

Your Experience:

● A successful candidate should have a minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience in transfer pricing, including proven team leadership roles within multinational corporations or reputable consulting firms.

● Strong knowledge of international tax laws, accounting principles, and transfer pricing regulations across various jurisdictions. Proficiency in transfer pricing methodologies, financial analysis, alternative dispute resolution processes, use of APAs and MAP procedures, benchmarking, and financial modeling.

● Proven ability to provide strategic direction and leadership to a team, with a track record of managing and mentoring professionals.

● Experience in managing transfer pricing for a US multinational operating in multiple countries, including regions with complex transfer pricing regulations.

● A history of effectively managing transfer pricing audits and disputes with tax authorities to achieve favorable outcomes.

● A history of effective use of APAs and other alternative advanced resolution forums to achieve tax certainty where available

● Demonstrated experience in preparing and maintaining transfer pricing documentation in compliance with local and international regulations.

Requirements:

This role demands a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of transfer pricing principles, a
strong track record of strategic planning, execution of operational transfer pricing, compilation of
compliance and documentation support, and the ability to lead a team in managing complex transfer
pricing challenges for a US multinational corporation:

● A bachelor degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is typically required. An advanced degree and relevant professional certifications (e.g,, Masters and/or CPA) are highly desirable.

● In-depth knowledge of international transfer pricing regulations, OECD guidelines, and tax laws in various jurisdictions, including OECD Pillar One and Pillar Two rules.

● Strong leadership and management skills to oversee a team of transfer pricing professionals and drive strategic initiatives.

● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Familiarity with transfer pricing software and tools, as well as a willingness to embrace automation and digital solutions in transfer pricing processes.

● Ability to evaluate and potentially disrupt current processes where improvements can be successfully implemented

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $0 - $0/YR.
