The Senior Certification Exam Portfolio Manager is responsible for maintaining the integrity, validity and reliability of the Palo Alto Networks Certification Program. In this role, you will oversee the design, development and maintenance of industry-leading certification exams through the use of AI-generated item banks and analytics. The Exam Program Manager works collaboratively with stakeholders, subject-matter experts and external vendors focusing on supporting the growth and evolution of the Palo Alto Networks Certification Program across the entire landscape of Palo Alto Networks technology.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the design, development and maintenance processes for multiple certification exams.
Drive the full lifecycle of AI-generated item development, from prompt engineering and SME collaboration to model-output validation and refinement.
Maintain exam-specific item banks by leveraging AI tools to audit content for relevance, accuracy, and potential bias, ensuring all items meet quality standards.
Develop deep expertise in all required systems, especially AI-powered platforms for content generation, item management, and analytics reporting.
Manage and optimize content workflows by integrating AI-driven processes to improve efficiency, scale, and time-to-market.
Manage the exam form development and publishing process, utilizing AI-assisted tools for psychometric analysis and form assembly to ensure fairness and validity.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and testing vendors.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in developing and implementing solutions using modern AI, particularly Generative AI.
Strong understanding of Generative AI best practices, including model fine-tuning, ethical AI principles, and evaluating model outputs.
Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills; exhibits a positive attitude and a professional demeanor.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Effective ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong project management skills.
2+ years of exam program management and development.
Knowledge of certification industry standards and processes.
Experience working with credentialing programs.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Palo Alto Networks Cybersecurity Apprentice and Cybersecurity Practitioner certifications are strongly encouraged.
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
