Job Summary

The Consulting Director will help drive Proactive Consulting Services across the Cloud, GRC and AI security domains. This senior-level consultant will serve as a trusted advisor and key contributor to helping our customers strengthen cybersecurity resilience and advance their overall security maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive development, maturation, and continuous innovation of Unit 42’s proactive security consulting services.

  • Lead and deliver high-complexity cloud security assessments (architecture, configuration, identity, and threat detection) across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

  • Direct Zero Trust transformations, converting complex security obstacles into resilient, scalable architectures for enterprise-scale clients.

  • Orchestrate security engagements including risk assessments, compliance audits, policy development, and high-stakes incident response tabletop exercises.

  • Translate critical business risks into actionable, technical security blueprints for both C-suite executives and engineering teams.

  • Leverage deep knowledge of threat actor behaviors, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and emerging AI security trends to harden client defenses.

  • Navigate clients through complex regulatory and security standards including NIST CSF, ISO, CIS, and CISA.

  • Oversee scoping, budgeting, and risk mitigation for multiple high-priority simultaneous engagements.

  • Drive practice expansion by identifying new opportunities, drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), and leading responses to RFPs.

  • Develop strategic security roadmaps that align technical milestones with broader business objectives and resource availability.

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with client executives, serving as the go-to strategic advisor for proactive security.

  • Help current and prospective clients identify vulnerabilities or architectural weaknesses and help drive business growth through Unit 42 solutions. 

  • Create proprietary intellectual property, represent Unit 42 at industry events, and mentor the next generation of consulting talent.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of professional services experience, with 3+ years in a Director or Senior Manager role leading delivery teams.

  • Experience leading cybersecurity advisory, risk management, or professional services engagements for enterprise-tier clients.

  • Must speak English and Portuguese, Spanish a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent military experience) required; Master’s or PhD is a significant plus.

  • Full professional fluency in English and Portuguese is required; Spanish is a plus 

  • ​​Expertise and deep knowledge in complex SOC and MSSP environments

  • Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Deep experience within the Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) technology or advisory space.

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing security architectures aligned with NIST SP 800-207 and the CISA ZT Maturity Model.

  • Extensive experience performing assessments against NIST CSF, CIS 18, and ISO 27001.

  • Hands-on experience with the implementation and administration of common GRC technologies.

  • Proven track record of strengthening existing and developing new client relationships through technical excellence.

  • Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both executive and technical audiences.

  • Mentor team members and help consultants grow their technical and leadership capabilities 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Security-related certifications (e.g., AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, GCP Professional Cloud Security).

  • Experience overseeing complex migrations (on-prem to cloud or multi-cloud).

  • Knowledge of integrating CLI or scripting tools (Python, PowerShell) into risk assessment workflows.

  • Proven track record in pre-sales and solution positioning to drive business growth.

  • Experience conducting security assessments of AI systems using MITRE ATLAS, OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF).

  • Operational Technology cybersecurity expertise and experience with Palo Alto Networks technologies, including Prisma Access, NGFW, and Cortex XDR.
