Your Career
Palo Alto Networks is building a world-class product management organization and continues to look for top-notch technical marketing engineers to expand the team. As a Senior Manager of Technical Marketing Engineers at Palo Alto Networks, you will play a key role in providing detailed technical information to our partners, customers, and our employees.
Be a self-starter who is eager to learn and experiment with new technologies, be able to work independently and as a teammate, identify sales challenges and address solutions as needed.
As a Sr. Manager of Technical Marketing Engineers you will be a strategic adviser to the business, driving valuable insight, guidance and feedback back into Palo Alto Networks. You will work across product and marketing teams to deliver this feedback.
Your Impact
Your core responsibilities will include managing and mentoring a highly technical team across global geographies, with a key focus on enablement. The team you will manage is responsible for building enablement materials and highly technical demonstrations to both internal and external facing audiences
Team Leadership & Strategy:
Manage and work with a highly technical team of Engineers and Managers across multiple geographies who directly support product initiatives.
Help to build out and provide strategy for the existing team and then personally/project manage the team as it grows.
Help to mentor employees with their career development.
Create best practices and metrics that will drive success for the team.
Product & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with sales, engineering, product management, product marketing, customers, partners, and additional teams to promote and bring innovation.
Coordinate and lead ambitious projects in a multi-functional capacity with other teams.
Work closely with Product Managers and Executives within Palo Alto Networks across multiple product organizations, providing direct product feedback for future development.
Work closely with engineering to help prioritize and implement product requests through customer interactions.
Enablement & Content Creation:
Help design and build enablement content for a security minded marketplace - both for internal and external stakeholders.
Produce highly technical enablement materials and demonstrations that will be digested by internal and external audiences.
Produce highly visible demonstrations of content for internal and external audiences.
Create high-quality integration guides for both customers and internal subject matter experts.
Your Experience
The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise, management experience, and a strong focus on enablement.
Management & Program Experience:
At least 4 years experience with managing technical teams such as Systems Engineers, Solution Architects, Development Teams, or SOC Analysts. (A minimum of 2 years experience with technical teams is also noted for a Manager role ).
Experience with people management.
Experience managing cross functional programs, in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
At least 4 years experience in project management and supporting large enterprise networks. (General experience is also noted ).
Technical & Domain Expertise:
At least 4 years experience with SIEM, SOAR, Cloud Security or Product development, including hands-on experience with integration and operations.
At least 4 years experience with Endpoint platforms, including hands-on experience in integration and operation of large scale environments.
Familiarity with the security landscape, including SOAR, SIEM, EPP, EDR, XDR, XSOAR, ASM, Cloud Security, IR, and Forensics.
Experience in building SOC workflows and/or with management of a SOC/Cloud Security, and incident response.
Experience with production lab or data center experience.
At least 2 years of experience with scripting languages—Python, Powershell—is required for the enablement track.
Optional: knowledge and experience with playbook design.
Soft Skills:
Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills with strong presentation abilities.
Ability to inspire teams, colleagues, and executives; paired with an ability to execute.
Ability to travel often to various local and international locations as needed.
Ability to present to CISO or higher level executives and lead thought discussions.
