Job Summary
As the Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs for ASEAN, you will lead our policy function across the region, shaping legislation and public policy related to our services. You will be responsible for building influential relationships with government policymakers, advancing strategic business opportunities, and serving as a trusted advisor to our Southeast Asian leadership. This role is based in Singapore and is pivotal in elevating Palo Alto Networks' visibility and impact in the cybersecurity policy community.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand and cultivate relationships with key officials and stakeholders to elevate Palo Alto Networks' visibility in ASEAN tech policy communities.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive government engagement plan, ensuring strategic positioning in the cybersecurity policy landscape.
- Monitor, analyze, and engage on emerging public policy issues including cybersecurity, AI, data flows, cloud, and privacy.
- Collaborate with the public sector sales team to facilitate strategic business conversations with senior government officials and influencers.
- Partner with JAPAC and U.S. legal and policy teams to ensure consistent global approaches and information sharing.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leadership in the ASEAN region, providing insights on policy impacts and government activities.
- Liaise with internal functions (marketing, communications, product) to provide timely public policy positions and support strategic decisions.
- Represent the company's policy positions through written papers, conferences, and industry associations to build our brand as a strategic partner.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of relevant public policy and government affairs experience.
- Strong background engaging on cybersecurity, data flows, privacy, and AI-related government policies.
- Established network of government, academic, and other key influencers within the ASEAN region.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple time zones, countries, and cultures.
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with proficiency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- A law degree is considered advantageous.
- Proficiency in any other Southeast Asian language.
- Proven track record in supporting sales teams and a passion for building strategic business relationships.
- Strong business judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
The Team
The Global Policy and Government Affairs is part of the Global Legal team and works with governments, companies and organisations around the world to foster operational partnerships across industry and government, develop strategic relationships with key government officials, and advise governments on public policy and legislation.
