I have recently relocated back to New Zealand where I am the GTM Sales recruitment lead for Australia and New Zealand. What advice would you give to a candidate preparing for an interview?
Know your resume, know your sales number and be concrete in your answers. Make sure you can articulate your experience giving examples of where you have been successful with customers (STAR). Research the company and the person/people you are interviewing with and finally, prepare relevant questions.
How can someone be a more competitive candidate?
Be selective in the role you are applying for and make sure it is relevant to you and your experience. Keep your resume concise and easy to read. Ensure the most relevant information (most recent experience, qualifications) is on the first page. Be enthusiastic, build a rapport with your interviewers and always be genuine.
