Your Career

We are seeking a Development heavy DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for improving and maintaining a software development, test and live infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, articulate, have experience with Linux and is comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment.

Your primary mission as a DevOps engineer is working closely with the development, technical operations, quality assurance, and product management teams, to ensure the timely delivery of robust technical solutions for Palo Alto Networks' customers and internal teams. At Palo Alto networks we believe in the policy of building Infrastructure as code.

Your Impact

  • Support and deploy mission critical, front-end and back-end production
  • Improving site performance, monitoring, and overall stability of our infrastructure
  • Interacting with the Engineering for supporting/maintaining/designing backend infrastructure for product support
  • Automation of deployment, customization, upgrades and monitoring through DevOps tools meant for Cloud management
  • As a DevOps Engineer, building, deploying, and maintaining our cloud environment is your day-to-day focus
  • Automation is a part of your daily functions, so thorough familiarity with Unix Bourne shell scripting and other languages such as Python is a critical survival skill
  • Participate in 24×7 operation support and on-call rotation

Your Experience 

  • 5+ years experience - BS or MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Previous production environment engineering, configuration management, release engineering
  • Excellent development experience with bash and python is a must
  • Excellent knowledge of Linux systems administration and architecture
  • Proficient working with AWS and/or GCP in a highly available and scalable production environment
  • Experience managing web servers (nginx)
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible GIT
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience with building and deploying monitoring solutions like Prometheus, Kibana
  • Experience documenting processes, labs and test environments

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $126000 - $203500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
