Job Summary

Key Responsibilites
The Domestic Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for:

  • Audit Management: Lead and manage the end-to-end indirect tax audit process from initial document requests to final protest and/or appeals. Develop and execute audit defense strategies while managing outsourced service providers to minimize assessments

  • Risk Management: Perform internal reverse audits to identify process gaps while contributing to the OneSource CM2 environment, implementing process improvements to automate data collection and increase accuracy and limit audit exposure

  • Tax Strategy: Monitor legislative changes to assess the impact on tax positions and audit readiness. Support the Sr. Tax Manager – State Tax with high-level tax planning, risk mitigation, and M&A integration activities, such as voluntary disclosures

  • Compliance: Work closely with the team in India to obtain a working knowledge of the end-to-end indirect tax compliance lifecycle, while utilizing the compliance data to identify and mitigate risks before they arise

  • Cross-Functional Advisory: Provide technical guidance to internal stakeholders on new business initiatives and new product integration

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or a large corporate tax department

  • Advanced professional designation (CPA, EA, or JD/LLM)

  • Experience with indirect tax controversy, audit defense, and appeals

  • The ability to operate independently, represent the tax function in cross-functional settings, make decisions and advise the business

  • Technical proficiency in state and local tax laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 

  • Highly proficient with Excel and comfortable working with different IT applications

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or NetSuite) and tax engines (e.g., OneSource) is highly preferred

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
