Joining Palo Alto Networks

I support enterprise clients by strengthening their cybersecurity posture through Palo Alto Networks' security platform, helping them drive their business securely.

I started my career as a corporate sales representative for a telecommunications carrier and have continued in corporate sales ever since. In the latter five years, I also took on management responsibilities as a sales manager. My products ranged widely, from the company’s core communication services to the latest technologies like AI, IoT, and RPA. I always focused on how to leverage these technologies to enhance clients' operational efficiency and business performance.

The recruiter was flexible, which was helpful since I was also going through other selection processes at the time. They considered my schedule and managed to arrange the final interview within a short period. The interview process included not only the direct reporting line but also colleagues I would interact with, indicating that communication skills and cultural fit are essential alongside sales ability. Each interview was conducted in a positive atmosphere, allowing me to feel relaxed. In the final interview, I gave a brief presentation, and I felt it was important to confidently showcase my experience rather than focusing too much on Palo Alto Networks products.

I joined around the start of a global sales training called the FLIGHT Program. This 10-week training included two weeks in Silicon Valley at the global HQ and two weeks in Singapore (JAPAC theater), allowing me to experience the company culture firsthand. Although I had some concerns about the English language, AI translation support was available for online content, and interpreters were on-site. Support from global and Japan teams as well as other members made it possible for me to complete the program successfully. While high English skills aren’t required upon joining, a willingness to learn English is beneficial for keeping up with the latest information within the company.

私のこれまでのキャリアと現在の仕事

私は通信キャリアの法人営業部門でキャリアをスタートし、営業課長として約5年間、チームをマネジメントしてきました。AIやIoT、RPAといった最新テクノロジーを活用しながら、いかにお客様の業務効率化や業績向上に貢献できるかを日々考えて営業に取り組んでいました。

現在は、パロアルトネットワークスのセキュリティプラットフォームを通じて、エンタープライズ企業のサイバーセキュリティ強化をサポートし、お客様の事業の安全な推進に貢献しています。

入社後のオンボーディング体験

私が入社して間もなく、「FLIGHT Program」というグローバル共通のセールストレーニングに参加する機会がありました。この約10週間のプログラムでは、シリコンバレーの本社やシンガポールのJAPAC拠点を訪れるなど、プロダクトだけでなく会社のカルチャーを肌で感じる貴重な経験ができました。

英語に少し不安がありましたが、オンラインコンテンツにはAI翻訳、現地では通訳サポートが用意されていたため、問題なくプログラムを完了することができました。入社時に高い英語スキルは求められませんが、英語を学ぶ意欲がある方は、社内情報のキャッチアップにおいて大きなメリットが得られると思います。

面接プロセスで感じたこと

リクルーターの方々の柔軟な対応には大変助けられました。他社の選考と並行して進めていたため、短期間で最終面接まで日程調整をしていただけたことに感謝しています。

面接プロセスでは、所属部門の上司だけでなく、実際に業務で関わるメンバーとも面談がありました。このプロセスから、営業スキルだけでなく社内でのコミュニケーション力やカルチャーフィットを重視している会社であると感じました。最終選考では簡単なプレゼンテーションが求められましたが、自分の経験を自信を持って伝えることがポイントだと思います。

入社から6ヶ月を振り返って

外資系企業での経験は初めてでしたが、パロアルトネットワークスのチーム文化に感動しています。助け合いの精神が根付いており、困ったときには自然とサポートの手が差し伸べられます。また、会社のトップがグローバルなサイバーセキュリティリーダーとして行動している姿を見ると、自社を誇りに思う瞬間が多々あります。

7月末の決算期には、チーム全体の目標達成に向けた結束力とエネルギーを実感しました。このような環境で働けることに大きなやりがいを感じています。
