Living Our Values at P.I.E.F.E.S.T.

Volunteering at P.I.E.F.E.S.T., a non-profit organization that was founded in South San Francisco, California by Pacific Islander parents in search of a community within STEAM, has become a meaningful way for us to give back. This year, it also served as a powerful kickoff to Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month. It’s a moment to celebrate our roots while inspiring the next generation of innovators, engineers, and cyber defenders.

Our presence at P.I.E.F.E.S.T. wasn’t just about outreach — it was also a living example of Palo Alto Networks core values in action:

Disruption – We brought innovative, hands-on cybersecurity education directly to the community, breaking down complex concepts through interactive activities like encryption and decoding challenges for youth.
Execution – Our team of volunteers showed up prepared, engaged, and focused, running a smooth and impactful booth that engaged with hundreds of attendees throughout the day.
Collaboration – Volunteers from different teams and backgrounds came together to support a shared goal: connecting with the community and sharing our expertise in a meaningful way.
Integrity – We stayed true to our mission by providing accurate, accessible, and respectful cybersecurity education to an audience that deserves equal access to STEAM resources.
Inclusion – At the heart of this event is the idea that everyone should see themselves in STEAM. Our support of Aloha ‘Āina volunteering at P.I.E.F.E.S.T. is a direct expression of our commitment to inspiring the next generation of cyber defenders.
