Employee Spotlight: Nir on Driving Customer Impact and Team Success

Nir’s 20-year career in technology has spanned software development, customer service, pre-sales, and leadership. But it was cybersecurity that “brought all of these worlds together for me,” shared Nir. “It combines complex technology, solving real business problems, and making a meaningful difference for customers.”

Today, Nir serves as Director, Capability Team Idira Domain Consulting at Palo Alto Networks, where he takes equal pride in delivering for his customers and elevating the skills and capabilities of his team. Read on to learn more about Nir’s journey.

What makes working at Palo Alto Networks unique, and how do you see your role driving impact within the organization?

The elevated business velocity and pace, along with the combination of people, scale, and ambition. You feel like you are driving a race car that can beat everyone else and has all the technology you need in order to win. This environment creates an incredible opportunity to bring together different cybersecurity solutions and solve almost all problems as one integrated platform while working with some of the best people in the industry.

For me, impact happens when we take a complicated cybersecurity problem and turn it into something a customer can understand, act on, and use to reduce real risk. Helping our teams make that connection between technology and customer outcomes is where I believe I can make the biggest difference.

What accomplishments are you most proud of during your career?

I’m most proud of the teams and people I’ve helped develop. Customer wins and business results are important, but seeing people I’ve worked with grow, take on bigger challenges, and become leaders themselves is probably my most rewarding accomplishment.

What do you enjoy most about working with your team?

I work with people who combine deep technical expertise with a genuine desire to help customers succeed. It’s not easy to find people who master both the tech and business aspects at the same time. I also love that we challenge one another, share knowledge freely, and know that the team's success matters more than individual recognition. We are all in it together.

The cybersecurity landscape is constantly evolving. What are you most excited about for the future?

AI, AI, and again—AI. AI is quickly changing cybersecurity. I’m particularly excited about the challenge of securing not just people, but machines and AI agents as they gain more access, autonomy, and privileges across our digital world.

What advice would you give to a young professional looking to enter the cybersecurity industry?

Stay curious and get your hands dirty. Learn the fundamentals, build things, break things safely, ask questions, and never stop learning. Cybersecurity changes constantly, so your ability to learn and adapt will ultimately matter more than knowing every technology today.
