My Systems Engineering Internship Experience with Palo Alto Networks
Last week I wrapped up my systems engineering internship with Palo Alto Networks. At the beginning of my 12 weeks I remember feeling so uncertain moving to a new state and taking on a new adventure. I am so incredibly grateful I took a chance to try something new. I saw an immense amount of growth in myself, learned so much about this role, and met some incredible people over the summer. Some of the highlights included:
⭐️ Learning how to create an effective demo and putting that into practice through mock meetings and calls
⭐️ Attending SE Bootcamp at our Santa Clara headquarters where I got to learn from Palo Alto Networks leaders and SE professionals
⭐️ Participating in weekly presentations alongside my fellow interns where we could learn new topics and brush up on our presentation skills
The number one thing that made this internship what it was and such a great learning experience was the by far people. First, I would like to thank my manager Jeff and my mentors Nathaniel and Kordell for their unwavering support and helping me grow in this role. Secondly, I would like to think all of cohort 7 in the SE Academy for their help and encouragement throughout our 12 weeks here. Finally, I would like to thank my fellow interns. I learned something from every intern in this program and they are truthfully some of the most collaborative and insightful people I’ve ever worked with.
Special thanks to Marty, Luiza, and any of the academy leaders who make this program what it is.
It was such a bittersweet goodbye to an internship I love so much. It was a summer I’ll never forget and I walked away knowing I left with nothing short of a great experience.
