What it's like to work on the world's most cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
It is an incredible opportunity to be working on such large-scale projects. I always viewed Palo Alto Networks as an industry leader, so being part of this operation and contributing to its development feels amazing. Naturally, this comes with a lot of responsibility, as changes we make here in the company influence countless customers that are using and trusting our products.
The Cortex Platform exemplifies Palo Alto Networks adaptation to the global changes in the cybersecurity realm. Each year, new components are introduced, attack surfaces change, threat actor techniques evolve, and with them, security tools are modified and developed. In today’s age, there are countless security tools, each developed for a different purpose. While these tools provide security in their realms, they often do not interact with each other seamlessly, leaving companies vulnerable to threats that stem from the simple fact that their security stack is disorganized. A centralized platform is an optimized solution not only due to its value in consolidating a company’s security stack in one single solution, but also due to its power to leverage the various data sources that are integrated into the platform, allowing them to share data between them, bringing unique value that cannot be otherwise achieved when they remain disconnected from one another. Being part of this change teaches me a lot about how to think outside the box, how to adapt to changing realities, and how to find value and opportunities in places that I wouldn’t have been exposed to otherwise.
Palo Alto Networks has the best of both worlds. On one hand, being a large-scale corporation, the scale of the work here is huge, and you get to see your influence on the cybersecurity realm. On the other hand, the company holds many values that are traditionally viewed as exclusive for small startups: It is very dynamic and constantly adapting to the world around it, and most of all - employees feel their impact on the company, despite its huge size.
