Learn about SecurED - The Cybersecurity Faculty Development Program by Palo Alto Networks India

Palo Alto Networks is committed to strengthening cybersecurity expertise in India through its flagship program, SecurED - a Cybersecurity Faculty Development Program. This month, SecurED brought together over 75 faculty members from more than 40 top-tier institutions across 19 Indian cities for an immersive learning experience at the Palo Alto Networks Bangalore campus.

SecurED is designed to:

- Equip educators with the latest cybersecurity skills, bridging the gap between industry and academia
- Empower faculty to deliver cutting-edge cybersecurity education to their students
- Contribute to building a future-ready cybersecurity workforce for India

Participants in the SecurED program explored emerging cybersecurity trends and best practices, including threat detection, network security, and cloud security. The program provided hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks cybersecurity solutions and platforms through demos and labs, creating an immersive learning environment. The program culminated in certification, offering valuable insights from our in-house cybersecurity SMEs, and featured keynote speaker Mr. Vinayak Godse, CEO Data Security Council of India (DSCI).

Addressing the cybersecurity skills gap

India's rapid digital transformation, fueled by advancements in AI, has driven efficiency and productivity across various sectors. However, this digital progress has also expanded the attack surface, increasing vulnerability to cyberthreats. Cybercriminals are now leveraging AI to automate and scale their attacks, underscoring the growing need for robust cybersecurity practices and a skilled workforce.

Programs like SecurED play a critical role in bridging the gap between industry needs and academic curriculum.

Palo Alto Networks recognizes that equipping India's educational institutions with the best cybersecurity knowledge and systems is essential for safeguarding the nation's progress and global reputation. By supporting faculty development and fostering collaboration between industry and academia, Palo Alto Networks is committed to ensuring that India's students, researchers, and institutions are prepared to face the cybersecurity challenges of the 21st century.
