Why Conquering Germany's Highest Peak Got Anne Thinking About Cybersecurity

For me, vacation is the perfect mix of recharging and tackling personal challenges. I’ve always been someone who needs to be active, and this year's challenge was a big one: conquering Germany's highest peak, the Zugspitze ⛰️ (shortest way up and easiest way down).

Hanging off a cliff face on the way up, you gain a lot of clarity. My fear of heights was present, but my trust in the system—the steel cable of the via ferrata, my harness, every single carabiner clip—was stronger.

This got me thinking about cybersecurity 💡 🔐 There's always an "easier" way. It's faster with no equipment. But it's also more exposed to risk. By using the special equipment it’s a deliberate choice for security. It might be a bit slower, requiring you to pause and consciously clip in, but it’s engineered to prevent the one thing you can't afford: a fall.

Our customers are making the same choice. They know the fastest path isn't always the most resilient. They are choosing the robust, secure route to avoid the catastrophic fall of a data breach. They are clipping into a stronger security posture.

The view from the top is incredible. But the feeling of getting there securely? That's everything.
