Thinking Globally: Patrick Embraces a New Opportunity
For Patrick, a Cortex Managed Business Lead in the Americas, growth is about crossing borders and broadening your strategic lens. Patrick recently made a move within Palo Alto Networks to take advantage of opportunities to work more with global accounts. Learn more about his experiences in the Q&A below.
What has been the most exciting aspect of your new role?
I am learning new skills that help me be more well-rounded in my career. I had been looking for more professional development opportunities to work with global accounts, and this new role has opened those doors.
In what ways has this transition allowed you to engage with Palo Alto Networks colleagues differently than before?
I have multiple accounts that I am working with in North America, but I have two accounts that reside in India. I am also enjoying that my internal conversations are very strategic to the business, and I am engaging with leaders at Palo Alto Networks that I had not worked with in the past. I am enjoying the big picture, strategic nature of the opportunity I have in this new role.
How do you feel this shift has positively impacted your career path?
I am very interested in a strategic global role at Palo Alto Networks and have been building my career to do so.
I have a goal to live in EMEA, or at least travel to EMEA & JPAC for business regularly. I felt like I had a gap in my career in regards to how the Channel operates globally. This new role is helping me fill that gap.
