Early-in-Career Inside Look: Identifying and Mitigating Threats with Unit 42
Hi! I'm Janell Banks, a Cyber Risk Management Consultant here at Unit 42. I work on the Proactive Services Team, which focuses on identifying and mitigating threats before they impact organizations. Some highlights from the LEAP early in career program include the opportunity to connect and build meaningful relationships with like-minded colleagues that have since turned into friendships.
Being a part of the Unit 42 organization early in career is a phenomenal learning opportunity. This is thanks to an exceptional support system that actively promotes continuous growth throughout your entire career. One of the most rewarding experiences during the Unit 42 Academy has been joining the Unit 42 Toastmasters Club. It has been a great opportunity to improve my public speaking and leadership skills.I have also received the opportunity to become the Club President which has allowed me to help my colleagues grow in these areas too!
A piece of advice that I would give to future new grads interested in joining Palo Alto Networks would be to always have a desire to learn as new opportunities will always present themselves. This is a great skill to have when it comes to the cybersecurity partner of choice!
