"I have never had so much satisfaction with my job as I have now."

At what age do you feel your career chances are dwindling? A truly diverse and inclusive employer will not count you out based on your date of birth. They will cherish your experience, your robustness and your calm.

I joined Palo Alto Networks in my early 60s for a role I was highly qualified for. My interviews were a blast; from the very first Zoom call, my hiring manager and I clicked. I felt seen, appreciated and encouraged. Due to the pandemic, I had no in person interview.

When I sent in the scan of my passport, I had a few sleepless nights before the signed contract arrived. No need! Not only did Palo Alto Networks count me in, but I am respected and appreciated for my qualities and contributions, receiving awards for disruption, the People's Choice award as special recognition from my colleagues, and I even earned Marketing Person of the Year.

With the right employer, the right values in the workplace, and truly professional colleagues and managers, what really counts are your qualities and contributions.
